Hi, I’m Louise and welcome to my website!

A little bit about me… I am from Co. Roscommon in the West of Ireland, but living close by in Dromahair, Co. Leitrim for about 20 years now. It is the most beautiful part of the world with several lakes, mountains and woodlands. Dromahair is a lovely village with a vibrant and very creative community. It is steeped in history with the 16^th Century Franciscan Friary, Creevelea Abbey and two 17^th century castles, Parkes’s and Villiers’. In medieval times Dromahair was the seat of the O’Rourkes, the ancient Kings of Breifne. It is also located close to the Isle of Innisfree made famous by Ireland’s most celebrated poet William Butler Yeats. I am very lucky to have my workshop located in the midst of this beauty and history.

I am married to Kieran and have two lovely boys, Keilan and Conor. I established Louise Carroll Designs back in 2012, having spent the previous couple of years developing ideas and a product range that I could hand-make myself at home. When Keilan was born I felt this was the perfect time to set up the business so I could have a better work/family balance and I haven’t looked back since.

I had always wanted a career in art and design but had no formal training and so had no idea what to do or where to start. On a whim I bought a used sandblasting cabinet with a view to engraving glass. I began experimenting and have spent many years since engraving glass and various types of stone. My very first sale was a Donegal themed natural slate clock and since then I have invested in new equipment and taught myself new processes which have enabled me to expand my product range to include personalized mirrors, photo slates, bespoke wooden gifts, photo frames, signage, awards and I also offer a laser engraving and cutting service.

I have created bespoke pieces for a wide variety of customers from individuals looking for a special one of a kind wedding gift to corporate orders for hundreds of house number signs for new housing developments and I enjoy each and every order, no matter how big or small and I give each one the same undivided attention.

Louise Carroll Designs is constantly evolving, developing new designs and ideas and I always welcome new requests from customers so if you don’t initially see what you are looking for please contact me and I will do my best to design and create exactly what you need.
